The Exquisite Labrador
Welcome
It began back in the 70's, when our four children were young and I decided to get them a Labrador for a companion dog. I purchased and chocolate female and then befriended a local Labrador Kennel owner. Through my time with her I began to learn more about Labradors and fell in love with them as a breed.

One day I went to visit my friend's kennel and saw this amazingly beautiful black male, he reminded me of black beauty! His head, shoulders, rear, the whole package was just exquisite. It turned out that his owner had taken him to show and he had not won, so the owner was offering him for sale. I jumped at the opportunity to purchase this exquisite dog! I was told that he was wild and uncontrollable, but within a few weeks we had bonded and his behavior improved dramatically. I began showing him not long after that, and he went on to win the Dallas Fort Worth Retriever Club Specialty under a distinguished judge/ breeder from England! There were 400 Labradors entered in the show that day, and we took first! I was elated!

I began to breed Labradors more seriously after that and have always prided myself on choosing breedings not only for looks but also for temperament. If a dog was not friendly or eager to please, it didn't matter what he looked like or what his pedigree was, I wasn't going to breed to him. I even traveled up north to visit the homes of several of the stud dogs I was considering, just to make sure that their temperament was exceptional before breeding.

It was all brought to a halt in 2011 when I was diagnosed with stage 4 caner. I was undergoing chemo therapy and was unable to give my dogs the attention they deserved, so I re-homed the dogs and got out of breeding. When I was cleared and in remission I decided to start over again, but this time I wanted to start with the perfect English type. So, in 2016 I began importing the foundation breeding dogs for my program directly from Europe.

I have since been able to add some amazing types and pedigrees to my breeding program. The breeders from Europe have been extremely supportive and helpful and I am so excited for the potential of the puppies that I will produce in the future!
